Chapter 106
“The decree has been issued directly by the Archangel of Punishment. The reason doesn’t matter.”
A faint murmur was heard among them.
At a glance, it might not seem like a painful process, but for those going through it, it was no different from wanting to bite off their tongue and die from the sheer agony of the experience.
“Leon… it hurts so much…”
Luna muttered weakly, as if complaining to herself.
It was then.
All the extinguished bonfires scattered around the Temple of Judgment suddenly ignited.
The flames burned a deep crimson.
Simultaneously, a crimson-colored spear descended at tremendous speed into the center of the Judgment Sanctuary, making its presence known.
“The Archangel of Punishment has bestowed the decree.”
The enforcers of punishment knelt and bowed their heads toward the spear, as if reverently welcoming something holy.
Then, one of the enforcers slowly stood, taking the spear into their hands with solemn reverence, as if receiving a sacred relic.
Both the enforcers and Luna knew exactly what this spear was.
The composure vanished from Luna’s expression.
“This is bad. That damn bastard has really crossed the line.”
Luna quickly glanced at the enforcers.
“Do not come any closer.”
“The decree is absolute. Whatever the sinner’s identity, whatever crime they committed, that is no longer relevant. The forced execution will now proceed.”
In an instant, one of the enforcers, moving like a flash of light, drove the crimson spear straight into her chest.
There was no time to react, nor the strength to do so.
Luna, pierced by the spear, trembled and slowly began to rise into the air.
This spear was imbued with the power of the Archangel.
Though it appeared as just another spear, its contents held power beyond the comprehension of ordinary angels, making it impossible to predict its effect.
However.
One thing was certain.
A spear of the Archangel that descended upon the Judgment Sanctuary was a decree from the heavens.
The purpose of that spear’s existence was to pierce the sinner.
Whether it was a death sentence or a benevolent act of salvation did not concern the enforcers.
They simply followed the will of the Archangel, who represented the voice of God.
Soon, radiant auras began to gather around Luna’s entire body.
These were the same energies she typically used for healing, now wrapping around her protectively.
Crack!
But her power did not last long and shattered into pieces.
The power she emitted was overwhelmingly strong for a common angel, but the Archangel’s power suppressed even that with ease.
“This sucks…”
Her muttering infuriated the enforcers.
“How dare you speak so blasphemously of the Archangel’s power.”
“Silence that mouth.”
Without hesitation, Luna raised her middle finger at them.
“Archangels, my ass! Every one of them is a goddamned bastard! If this is God’s will, then I won’t remain one of Heaven’s angels any longer.”
In all of heavenly history, no low-ranking angel had ever dared to utter such blasphemy toward the enforcers of punishment.
“Blasphemy against the sacred…”
The enforcers with their dual wings muttered in shock.

That Luna had not died despite being pierced by the spear was not particularly surprising.
Though it took the form of a spear, it was the power of the Archangel, capable of both killing and healing.
However, Luna’s expression remained far from pleasant.
“Ugh… gah…”
The enforcers silently watched her as she writhed in unprecedented agony.
Given the blasphemy she had just uttered, she deserved immediate punishment, but none of the enforcers acted because of the Archangel’s power enveloping her.
It felt as if something was being forcibly drawn out from within her, and she was barely holding it back.
However, her resistance did not last long.
An intangible force surrounding her began to break apart at a rapid pace.
“Damn it. So they lent power to that human prince with this very intention!”
After all, how could a human use the symbol of the Archangel, the Spear of Judgment?
Her scream echoed in her mind as a voice—no, a vibration—resounded.
Though it was not a spoken voice, Luna understood and interpreted it effortlessly.
The will of the Archangel was simple and clear.
Repent for your sins and return to your original place.
If you refuse, both you and the abnormal human by your side will be marked for punishment.
Luna, of course, did not accept this.
However, if the Archangel’s decree had come down to this extent, it meant the situation was inevitable.
If things remained as they were, Leon would suffer greatly.
Luna’s deliberation did not last long.
“I won’t let that happen again. Not even twice.”
With her decision made, a strange current began to flow through her entire body.
The enforcers, the dual-winged angels who had been watching the scene, looked on in shock.
A formless streak of light began to manifest behind her.
“What in the world…”
Wings and eyes were symbols of identity and purpose for an angel.
A single-winged angel could never possess a second pair, and a dual-winged angel could never have more or fewer wings.
All angels had either one or two pairs of wings, while only Archangels possessed three or more pairs.
Even so, it was widely known that none of the enforcers had ever seen an actual Archangel, making the sight of a three-winged or greater being a myth.
Legend had it that some Archangels had four pairs of wings and wielded unimaginable power, though such beings were said to be extremely rare.
In any case, the idea of a single-winged angel manifesting another pair of light wings was almost inconceivable.

Meanwhile, Luna’s previously lowered head trembled slightly as her tightly shut eyelids began to open.
The first thing revealed was a pair of deep indigo eyes, reminiscent of a night sky.
Yet those who witnessed them—the enforcers—were utterly horrified.
The galaxy-like brilliance shining in Luna’s eyes was something none of them had ever seen before.
As her cold, emotionless gaze swept across the ground and slowly rose, she was breathtakingly beautiful.
“Th-Those eyes… Could it be…”
One of the long-serving enforcers muttered under their breath.
“My heavens… the Celestial Realm…”
The sky began to darken, and the bright sun in the sky was slowly eclipsed, as if a solar eclipse were occurring.
The fully obscured sun lost its light, leaving only a crimson rim, casting a darkness over the world like the end of days.
Crash!
A powerful force erupted from Luna’s entire body, enveloping the red spear imbued with the archangel’s revelation, shattering it as if breaking through glass.
Her fully awakened eyes emitted a faint glow, and cracks began to spread across the entirety of the Sanctuary of Judgment, as if it had been struck by a massive hammer, until it finally shattered.
“E…everyone, run!”
At the cry of the senior Angel, who had instinctively sensed something, those who had been acting emotionless up until now quickly fled the sanctuary.
Crash!
Not long after, a massive shockwave erupted, causing the sanctuary to collapse helplessly.
“No one touches Leon. No one.”
Luna, who had dissipated another wing formed from light, looked up at the sky with a sorrowful expression.
Transparent raindrops began to fall gently, striking her lightly as she hovered alone in the endless sky.
Still gazing up at the heavens with a sad expression, she touched the corner of her eye and gave a bitter smile.
“Leon would like this…”
After all, Leon had always been oddly curious to see her awakened state.
At last, the tether between the Celestial Realm and the intermediary world was completely severed, and her divine form began to dissolve.
Her forcibly projected consciousness returned to her original body.

Whatever Dorn’s intentions were in trapping Luna in that space, it had clearly reacted to Luna’s power, which was anything but that of a normal angel, and caused an issue.
Dorn had effectively lost all the power he had been scattering around.
Borrowed power never lasts forever…
“This… this can’t be happening!”
He cried out in despair, staring at the Halo floating above his head.
Leon didn’t know what treatment Dorn had endured or what events he had gone through in the Imperial Palace.
Nor did he care.
But when Dorn had dragged Melissa into his schemes, a point of no return had been reached between them.
Shing…
The sphere surrounding Luna began to crack, and her energy became even clearer and more vivid.
There had been no such overwhelming presence from her before.
Leon silently approached Dorn and pointed the tip of his cursed blade at him.
“Any last words?”
Dorn, still dazed, turned his gaze to Leon.
“In the end, even luck has abandoned me. The power gap seemed insurmountable.”
“I don’t know much about the continent’s history, but you probably haven’t experienced enough to shape human history. Call it the difference in experience.”
“I don’t understand what you mean.”
He muttered blankly.
“I’m just filled with regret. Go ahead and kill me.”
At Dorn’s plea, Leon approached him without hesitation and asked,
“Just one question before that.”
“…”
“That Halo. Who gave it to you?”
“What are you talking about? This Halo was found in the Imperial Treasury…”
He frowned slightly as he tried to answer, but Leon mercilessly cut him off.
“Sure, the Halo may have been discovered in the Treasury. But do you think it’s the kind of object you could contract with on your own?”
“…”
“To be honest, I’ve already got a pretty good idea of who’s behind it. Who do you think it is?”
Leon didn’t even turn his head as he asked.
And this time, the question wasn’t directed at Dorn.
